In reaction to a large oil spill in Orange County, Amplify Energy CEO Martyn Willsher said the business will do “whatever has to be done.”
After an oil rig controlled by the company’s unit was linked to a “catastrophic” oil spill off the coast of southern California, shares of Amplify Energy Corp (AMPY.N) dropped about 63 percent, heading for their worst day of trade.
At a press conference, Amplify CEO Martyn Willsher stated that the pipeline had been shut down and that any remaining oil had been suctioned out. However, divers were still attempting to figure out where and why the spill happened, he said.
