- Regina Daniels’ brother, Samuel Ojeogwu, known as Sammy West, was arrested after a petition linked to Senator Ned Nwoko
- Police in Abuja said he was wanted for conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyber-bullying
- Regina broke down online, saying his arrest was part of a plan to isolate her from her family
- The arrest deepened public interest in the crisis and showed that the fight had moved from social media to law enforcement
What began as a marital dispute between actress Regina Daniels and her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, quickly spread to the people around her. The loudest example of that was the arrest of her brother, Sammy West. Once he was picked up, Regina’s tone changed from anger to desperation. She started saying things like I give up and even hinted she could return to Ned if that was the only way to free her brother.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command in Abuja later confirmed that Sammy was in their custody. According to the police, they received a petition and invited him, but he did not show up. They said they then went to Lagos with a court-backed warrant, arrested him, and brought him to Abuja for further investigation. He was later charged in court on November 6 on several counts and remanded until he met his bail conditions.
So officially, he was not picked up randomly. He was picked up on the strength of a petition and a warrant.
Regina did not agree with that version. In her videos and posts, she said plainly that her brother’s only offence was fighting for his sister. She said he often stood up for her whenever there was trouble in the house, and that was why he became a target. In her words, if everyone around her were arrested or invited by the police, she would have no one left.

She also revealed screenshots of chats with her mother, where her mother said there was an order to arrest her, too, on or before Monday. That was when Regina said she might go back. Not because she wanted to, but because the pressure on her family was becoming too much.
A long history between Sammy and Ned
From Ned’s own statement, this was not the first time he had issues with Sammy. He said he sponsored him through his last two years at the University of Ekpoma, bought his music instruments, rented and furnished a flat for him in Abuja and still, according to him, Sammy would storm his house, shout, and even challenge his security. He described him as aggressive and said he needed rehabilitation.
So while Regina saw the arrest as intimidation, Ned saw it as law and order.
The arrest of Sammy changed the public mood around the story. Before that, it was two adults talking about marriage, drugs, and money. Once the police came in and a sibling was remanded, people started seeing it as a power issue. Could a husband use his influence to go after in-laws? Was the police being used? Was this still about marriage?
Regina’s emotional reaction, crying on Instagram and saying she was losing her mind, made it clear that this part of the crisis hurt her the most. She said she just wanted to know where her brother was. That single arrest proved what she had been saying all along: that the fight was no longer inside the marriage. It had entered the family.
